Recap of Student Shorts 2004

Our fourth year has come and gone, with crowds of people attending the four Canadian programs. Thanks go out to the AGO and NFB for continuing to provide such wonderful venues for the festival. We recieved hundreds of submissions from across Canada and around the world this year and were able to put together the best collection of student film this planet as ever seen!

2004 was the year we introduced the International Program. With submissions from post secondary students around the world, we screened a selection of the best at the National Film Board, which recieved rave reviews. We plan to continue the International screening in years to come, as it is a wonderful way for Canadian students to see what their peers are up to around the globe.

The after party was as fabled as everyone believed it would be, with the gallery space of the Artword crammed to the rafters with filmmakers, cinephiles and industry members. Thanks go out to the Artword Gallery for hosting the event once again.

Thanks as well to our party sponsors; Stella Artois, Mill Valley Water, Amato's Pizza and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

This year the festival was juried by Shane Smith of the Worldwide Short Film Festival, Sandy Crawley of the Documentary Organization of Ontario, André Bennett of Cinema Esperanca and Tania Reilly of TIFF.
